Meet Mosie Boyd

Founder of True Grit Law Firm and the River Valley Economic Development Council, Mosemarie Dora Boyd is a grateful tenth generation American committed to supporting our law enforcement teams and improving safety and fairness. 

Boyd has experience handling criminal cases in Sebastian County district, circuit and federal courts, as well as the Arkansas Court of Appeals, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. 

She graduated from University of Arkansas Little Rock Law School and earned a master's degree in National Security leadership from Georgetown University. Passionate about stopping terrorists and drugs coming across our borders, Boyd has supported law enforcement investigations right here in the River Valley.  

Boyd’s family served in WWI, WWII and the Cold War, and she is kin to a former Republican Congressman born in Cass County, Missouri.

Support for Law Enforcement


​For over 10 years, ​Mosie has worked to support our law enforcement teams in implementing the Drug Market Intervention Strategies, successfully proven by High Point, North Carolina. By coordinating conference calls with three consecutive High Point Police Chiefs, she introduced these nationally recognized strategies to the following former law enforcement leaders: Arkansas State Drug Director & Policy Deputy; Police Chief for Texarkana; Mayor & Police Chief of Pine Bluff (who sent staff to train in High Point and started a successful local program in Pine Bluff); Task Force for Helena/West Helena (includes Sheriff & Police Chief); Sebastian County Sheriff, Acting Fort Smith Police Chief and Fort Smith Crisis Intervention Center leader. With assistance from a former Arkansas Governor & his Liaison to Law Enforcement, Mosie presented the "Don't Shoot" & Drug Market Intervention Strategies to the 2012 annual convention of the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police.

Worked to Improve Fairness in Our Judicial System


​Mosie served as a Steering Committee member for the UALR Law School's racial justice improvement project, which led to the new Center for Racial Justice and Criminal Justice Reform. With a diverse team of  community leaders, she developed a proposal to recruit, train and mentor young people from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers on our local, state and federal prosecutorial teams. After coordinating a zoom call with former University of Arkansas Law School Dean Cynthia Nance, Mosie presented the proposal to the American Bar Association's Diversity and Inclusion Project. A member of the Sebastian County Bar Association, she attended Sebastian County Criminal Justice Coordinating Committee meetings and worked with a county consultant to improve fairness in our justice system.  In 2017, Mosie served as a panel speaker for Building Relationships Between Law Enforcement & Community and received an award from the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission.
